Meg Fisher won gold in the women’s road race time trial at the London Paralympic Games earlier this month.

A Physical Therapy doctorate student at UW, Fisher hails from Missoula, Montana. She documents her athletic endeavors on her blog and on Twitter at @GoMegFisher.

Today, she is at the White House getting hugs from our nation’s leaders:

From Team USA:

Fisher claimed the first gold medal of the day for the red, white and blue, taking the top prize in women’s individual C4 time trial over Australia’s Susan Powell. Fisher, a silver medalist in the women’s individual C4 pursuit in track cycling, finished in a time of 26:04.39 while Powell came in 26 seconds later.

“I’m feeling smashed,” Fisher said. “It was a really strong field, I’ve been going back and forth with Susan for a couple of years now. Everyone’s become so talented and worked so hard in the off season to prepare themselves for these races. It’s just such an honor to be here and compete against them. I applaud everyone’s efforts.”
