Seattle Street Fixers – Cleanup on Beacon Ave & Holgate St

The Seattle Street Fixers are doing our next organized cleanup this Saturday! This time, we’re tackling the overgrown one-side-only sidewalk that’s on the east side of Beacon Ave S as it runs downhill towards Holgate & SODO.

The sidewalk has become overgrown with blackberry vines and debris. Drivers love to speed down this stretch, ignoring the 25 mph signed speed limit as they fly by in the traffic lane adjacent to the sidewalk. This cleanup will at least give pedestrians a little more space from the whoosh of passing vehicles.

Meet along Beacon Ave S near the College St stairway on Saturday, September 24 at 10 am. Bring pruning shears, clippers, work gloves, rakes, snacks, drinks, etc. Google Maps link
