Reminder: 520 Bridge meeting Thursday will discuss future Roanoke Lid

From WSDOT (via Montlaker)

A community meeting Thursday will discuss plans for the Roanoke lid of the planned (but $2 billion-lacking) 520 Bridge replacement project.

The meeting will be from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Montlake Community Center.

Though the bridge plans do not currently include a biking and walking trail across Portage Bay (which is crazy), the Roanoke lid design is vital to connecting people to popular bike routes, like 10th ave, Federal Ave, Interlaken Boulevard and Delmar (and, perhaps, a new connection to Boyer).

It is also a chance to take another look at connections to Eastlake across I-5, a vital missing link in the current bicycle network and for improving bike access to the University Bridge.

See the Montlaker for more on the meeting.
