StreetFilms videographer to speak at Bike to Work Breakfast

Regular readers of this blog will certainly recognize the name StreetFilms. Their straightforward, informative and optimistic videos explain the benefits of livable, sustainable roads in ways that are neither condescending nor alienating.

Leading the StreetFilms crew is Brooklynite Clarence Eckerson, Jr, who is the keynote speaker at Cascade Bicycle Club’s Bike to Work Breakfast fundraiser April 27. You must RSVP by April 15 if you intend to go. You do not need a ticket to attend the breakfast, but you will be hounded for donations once you’re there. But hey, it’s for a good cause. And it’s worth any amount in order to see the man who created a video that annoyed shock jock Dori Monson so much he said, “I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a more stomach-turning group of people than the loser cyclists in this Portland bike box video.” That’s a strong endorsement.

For an example of StreetFilm’s work, here’s their most recent video of a cheerful event to show support for NYC’s embattled Prospect Park bike lane:
