My Ballard: Bikesport is moving closer to the Burke-Gilman Trail

A seven-story development project in Ballard is about to get under way at Bikesport‘s current location on 24th Ave NW, so the longstanding shop is getting ready to move to a new space closer to the Burke-Gilman Trail.

“We’ve been in Ballard 20 years, and we’ll be in Ballard another 20, just off the trail,” BikeSport’s James Wilker told My Ballard.

The new shop is on 9th Ave NW just north of NW 45th Street, next to BevMo right where the trail bends toward Fred Meyer.

If you’re looking to get some deals and give them a little boost as they head into next week’s sales floor move, swing by the shop this week or weekend. From Bikesport’s facebook page:

Update on our upcoming move to our new location: We anticipate starting our move this weekend with the big move of our sales floor happening on Monday 2/10. We’re so excited for everyone to see our new store!

In the background there are still visible parking lot striping left behind from the previous site – a Bike Sport commercial business that is not closing its doors, but moving closer to the Burke-Gilman Trail.
