While on the topic of bike thefts, U District Daily has a post about bike thefts going up (24 reports since August 1) now that students are back on campus. Also, Matthew Roth at Streetsblog wrote an interesting bit about getting his bike seat temporarily stolen in San Fransisco. He also linked to this totally awesome video shot a few years ago in New York:
