Kirkland Greenways is off to a running start, growing the call for a network of safe neighborhood streets where people of all ages and abilities in the Eastside city can walk or bike comfortably and safely.

The group was recently featured on the city’s Currently Kirkland show (see below), and they are gearing up to hold their second meeting Wednesday, 6:30 p.m. at Kirkland Fire Station #22. Details:

If you attended February’s meeting, this meeting will have largely the same content. Please talk to your neighbors/friends/coworkers and encourage them to come out. The value of our crowdsourced maps are directly proportional to the number of people who contribute to them.

Come join us to learn: What are greenways?

Gather around to mark up maps of Kirkland and the rest of the Eastside with your neighborhood destinations, existing safe walking and biking routes and dangerous conflict areas. Then we’ll continue to work with the City of Kirkland and the other Eastside cities to turn these proposed greenways into reality.

Bring your kids! Bring your neighbors! Bring your grandparents!

Date/Time: Wednesday MARCH 20th, 6:30 – 7:30
Location: Kirkland Fire Station #22 (Houghton), 6602 108th Ave. NE, Kirkland, WA
