Weekend Highlight: 2nd Annual Pedaler’s Fair showcases locally-made bike goods in Belltown

pedfair2013-011-1Local bike wares makers will showcase their goods this weekend at the second-annual Pedaler’s Fair, held this year at the Underground Events Center (1st and Wall in Belltown). The fair will be open Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m.

We were at the debut fair last year and loved it, of course. What’s not to love about a celebration of local bike goods and small businesses?

Pedaler’s Fair is an annual marketplace for Washington based, bicycle-inspired small businesses to exhibit their goods. In its first year, Pedaler’s Fair hosted 23 exhibitors and received over 1,000 guests. In addition to exhibitor booths we had live music, workshops and presentations.

The purpose of Pedaler’s Fair is two-fold: to provide a curated space for small, local, bicycle-based businesses; and to promote bicycling as a healthy, environmentally responsible mode of transit, adventure and recreation. Last year the Fair showcased a wide variety of products including handcrafted bicycle frames, touring bags for well traveled adventurers, smart clothing for city riders and artwork inspired by a passion for the bicycle.
