Bike News Roundup: CicLAvia is a boon for businesses

It’s the Bike News Roundup! Listening to advice from weeks past, I’ve organized stories into two sections: Pacific Northwest and National/Global. Let me know what you think. Also, this is an open thread. What’s on your mind?

    My next car is going to be a cargo bike… I keep looking at those Bullet Bikes from Larry vs Harry. They are heavy though 70lbs which is a lot to haul up the hill without even a load in them. And I met a guy who broke crank arm on his, so I’m specious whether regular bike parts will hold up that well.

      I’m planning to try out a CEMTA Margo next weekend (Lane will be visiting Seattle with one). I’m super excited about possibly getting one. :)

        I made a nice flatbed trailer instead. I use my old mountain bike as my cargo hauler and I can choose to haul the tailer and its extra weight around or not.

    The Bullitt is a nice bike but after test riding one I decided that I didn’t care for the handling. The cargo box is on the smaller side as well. It’s a nice machine and definitely fast but do keep it in mind. The owner of Splendid Cycles was very gracious and welcoming and I would definitely encourage you to go to Portland and check it out for yourself. In the end I went with the bakfiets.nl/Workcycles long bakfiets and it is perfect for us. It’s a bit cheaper than the Bullitt as well once you add up the cost of a rack, accessories, chain case, etc.
