Reason #345 to Not Drive a Car: BP’s Offshore Oil Strike Board Game

If you drive a car, you give douche bags like these money.

This game actually exists. From the UK’s Metro:

Up to four would-be tycoons can compete at exploring for oil, building platforms and laying pipelines to their home countries.

But BP Offshore Oil Strike players must also avoid the dreaded ‘hazard cards’, which state: ‘Blow-out! Rig damaged. Oil slick clean-up costs. Pay $1million.’

It reminds of when my friend got Monopoly: Planet Earth as a gift. That’s right, it’s a branded version of Monopoly where you compete with other tycoons explorers to buy camp at some of the most magnificent natural locations in the world, as filmed by the BBC special “Planet Earth.” If you get enough camps, you can even build a base camp on top of Madagascar and drive your fellow tycoons explorers into bankruptcy!

Drive less. It’s just better for everyone (and way more fun).
