Your weekly bike theft map (July 9-15)

View bike thefts 7/9-15 in a larger map

These are just the bike thefts that were reported to SPD. Report those thefts, and remember: bikes do get recovered.

Now, in honor of Kimya Dawson, who I saw last night at the Healthy Times Fun Club, a song sort of about bikes.

“All I wanna do is ride bikes with you and stay up late and maybe spoon.”

You’re missing the entire south (and west!) part of the city! This includes your bike crash map! There are plenty of bikers in the south end ….

There weren’t any reported. I zoomed the map to fit the data. Either no one steals bikes there (unlikely) or it is less often reported. Or maybe those precincts don’t report them. I’ll find out.

Oh, and the bike crash map is a project in the works. It has several issues I am working on. I’ll be sure it gets a proper zoom soon.

Thanks! I think you’ve got a good thing going here … I’d just be more inclined to read if my ‘hood is included!

And, hahaha, no bikes are stolen in the south end. Hahahaha. :)
