I live in West Seattle. I ride my bike to the QFC at Westwood Village, just northwest of White Center. It has become a hot home buying location. Last year they had a bike rack to lock up to. They got rid of it three or four months ago. Three or four weeks ago I went on their website to complain. Kroger, never corrected the problem, since even though there is 100 feet of unused space to put it, they didn’t return it. I’ve spoken to other bicycle riders who agree that QFC/Kroger could care less about cyclists. This is the best example of the Seattle anti bicycle attitude I can think of. I’d like to see a hundred cyclists go there and, not having a place to lock to, bring their bikes in the store! Can you? – Mark

I live in West Seattle. I ride my bike to Westwood Village’s QFC. IT’s a popular place. They had a bike rack several months ago, but removed it a couple months ago. I e-mailed Kroger a couple weeks ago and asked for it to be replaced. They didn’t. This QFC is a good example of how people think bicycles are stupid things poor people and children ride. I dream of a hundred cyclists going there at once and walking their bikes in the store at the same time to make a statement! Why would they take it away when there is 100 feet of unused space along the south side? – Mark

    Hey Mark,
Let me ask around and see what we can do to get good bike racks at QFC for riders there. Stay tune!
    Cheers!
