Ride Description:
Ride with Senior Ladies On Wheels and meander among Seattle’s most glorious views while avoiding difficult hills. ALL RIDERS WELCOME, old, young, male, female and everything in between. There are several gentle climbs along this route, but don’t worry – if you want to get off and walk, we’ll wait for you! Starting at the Northwest African American Museum on the I-90 lid, we will follow the Mountains to Sound Trail, then take the Beacon Hill Greenway on 18th Ave. South up a gentle slope to Jefferson Park for one of Seattle’s most magnificent vistas. Taking the Greenway back down to the Mountains to Sound Trail, we will loop around to join the proposed Central Ridge Route Greenway through Judkins Park and Pratt Park, across Capitol Hill to Volunteer Park for another grand vista. From Volunteer Park, a series of proposed Greenways will take us to the Mount Baker Ridge. We’ll drop down for a ride through the I-90 trail tunnel before returning to our starting point. Along the way we’ll choose a spot to stop for treats or lunch. On these rides the slowest rider sets the pace – don’t worry, we won’t hurry!
