The details of the collision are not entirely clear yet. Gray was apparently turning onto NE 175th Street from 65th Ave NE near the Burke-Gilman Trail (map) when he collided with a cement truck headed west on 175th. Detectives told the Seattle PI that Gray did not stop at a stop sign.

The collision happened shortly after 10 a.m. Wednesday. He died the next day in the hospital.

Very sad story. Gordon was a great guy and nationally ranked triathlete. My condolences to his wife, family and friends.

I am curious how this accident was officially concluded. Whether cement truck driver was at fault or Gordon had a lapse of reason just for a short second..which to me latter does not make sense at all. Thanks for anyone here who can shed a light into this matter.
