Join NE Seattle Greenways to walk the proposed greenway on 68th St!

We’ll look at where the city is proposing changes and where their greenway plan could be strengthened, and discuss connection issues with the 15th Ave bike lanes that are still in the design process.

If you haven’t seen it yet, here are the city’s current plans for the 68th greenway. You can submit input now, or do so after our walk! We’ll see if there’s enough interest to submit a group comment as well. I have a feeling there will be — there’s not a lot in the proposed changes that will substantially slow increasing traffic on 68th itself.

Here’s the details:

  • What: NE Greenways group tour of 68th
  • When: Saturday, January 18th, 1:00pm
  • Where: Gather at the NE Branch Library (68th St and 35th Ave)

We’ll start out with a short jaunt east to look at the connection with the 39th greenway, then head back and down the hill to the greenway’s end at Roosevelt HS on 15th. The route is less than 1.5 miles total. And there are lots of coffee shops nearby where we can go warm up and talk about what we’d like to see for both 68th and, soon, 15th!

Hope you all can join!
