The 2017 Indian Pacific Wheel Race route started on the Indian Ocean in Fremantle, Australia and ended at the Sydney Opera House. The 5500 km odyssey went across the remote Nullarbor Plain; through Adelaide and across the Great Ocean Road to Melbourne; and then headed north through the Victorian Alps and Snowy Mountains to Canberra before finishing at the Opera House in Sydney. It was a long hard way across a big beautiful place. The 2017 Transcontinental Race started in Belgium with checkpoints at Schloss Lichtenstein, Germany; Monte Grappa, Italy; High Tatras Mountains, Slovakia; and the Transfagarasan Highway, Romania- before ending in Meteora, Greece. TCRNo5 was 4000 km through 14 countries. The presentation will be made in memory of Mike Hall who was killed while racing the IndyPac. Mike was the creator and director of the Transcontinental Race. Please join three-time TCR finisher Doug Migden to hear about these two great races. Doug was also the only rider to finish both the Indian Pacific Wheel Race and Transcontinental Race in 2017.
