Seattle Street Fixers!
This Saturday, November 19th 9am-???, I am planning to do some cleanup work of the sidewalk/defacto bike path alongside Highland Park Way SW (only one side of the road) in West Seattle between 2nd Ave SW and SW Holden St, about 0.8 miles (note this is a gnarly hill from sea level to ~400 ft, it sucks).
It really needs some love and it’s a big project to go solo. I imagine it will be easily 5-10+ bags of just litter, several hundred lbs.
I’ll plan to start at the top of the hill at SW Holden St. around 9am, and work my way downhill. I’ll bring plenty of yellow bags and 3 trash grabbers at least, and my e-bike + trailer to cart supplies and move the full bags, and any random supplies.
If someone has a leaf blower there could definitely be some leaf blowing to be done, the sidewalk is covered with leaves and sticks and other tree-detritus. However my primary concern to start with is the litter.
I’d welcome anyone to join me for any amount of time! If you’re interested and you can make it, let me know.
Jeremy
