Orientation rides roll on Saturday or Sunday to allow riders to get familiar with the route without the time pressure of a commute.
The March ride begins at 1 p.m.on Saturday, March 23, meeting at Cafe Red near Othello Station.
There will be plenty of time to ask questions and get advice for your individual situation. When possible, weekend rides will also include optional practice putting bikes on bus racks to make your commute all the more flexible. We recommend joining the orientation ride prior to joining a weekday commute ride, but it is not required.
Othello – Start: Meet at Cafe Red (7148 Martin Luther King Jr Way S)
Meet at 1:00. We’ll meet and greet and chat bike riding tips before heading to our Beacon Hill stop at The Station Cafe (1600 S Roberto Maestas Festival St). There, we’ll discuss combining bikes with transit, and, if available, get some practice putting bikes on bus racks. Then we’ll head to downtown, riding the length of the 2nd Avenue protected bike lane before backtracking to Westlake, where you can put your bike on Link to head home.
