The Seattle Department of Transportation’s Safe Routes to School (SRTS) program is hosting a back to school event on August 26th at Greenwood Park!
Please spread the word to families in your network about this free, family-friendly celebration to learn about Safe Routes to School and bike skills for kids of all ages. There’s a bike rodeo with skills course, a helmet giveaway, free snacks, prizes, a scavenger hunt, music, storytime with Seattle Public Libraries, bike mechanics, and more! More info in the attached flyer.

Greenwood Park 602 NW 87th St, Seattle, WA 98117

You also might be interested to know: SDOT’s Safe Routes to School is promoting safe driving around Middle Schools this fall.
Two new middle schools are opening in Seattle, including Robert Eagle Staff Middle School at 90th just off Aurora. That means more kids walking and biking in these neighborhoods. We’re letting drivers know about the schools and reminding drivers to be alert and aware when driving down these high-speed, heavy traffic-filled streets and keep their eyes open for middle schoolers in these neighborhoods. You’ll see the campaign around town soon and we’ll share more info soon. You can check out the campaign here: http://www.seattle.gov/transportation/srts_Middlesafety.htm
We hope to see you at the event and thanks for any help spreading the word!
