King Of The Hills: Urban Hill Challenge @ The Strong Center

We pick the 9 hills. You pick the route. Your heart rate picks up…way up!
Description
You can cycle 9 of Olympia’s most killer hills, as a racer or a rider, and become a King Of The Hills. Plus, you’ll help provide back-to-school supplies for low income kiddies in the Thurston County area.

This fantastic urban hill challenge starts near Tumwater Hill and includes 4 hills on the east side of downtown Olympia, as well as 4 hills on the west side, along with Tumwater Hill itself. The hills are:
Tumwater Hill (Crosby Blvd SW)

West Side of Downtown:
Courthouse Hill (Lakeridge Dr. SW)
Old St. Peter’s Hill (4th Ave W)
Harrison Hill
West Bay Drive (Schneider Hill and Raft Ave NW)

East Side of Downtown:
Legion Way SE Hill
4th Ave E. Hill
San Francisco St NE
Berry St NE

You decide the route you want to take to get up all 9 hills the quickest, and back to the Start/Finish line. Each hill will have an attendant to check you off and fuel to keep you going. Once you finish, there will be a super cool King Of The Hills t-shirt waiting for you, and a beer garden for those over 21.

Registration is only $30 + $10 donation in school supplies (or cash) for the Little Red Schoolhouse. All riders and racers receive:

– Ticket for 1 beer at the beer garden (21+ Only)
– King Of The Hills t-shirt
– Rider’s lanyard with pins for all 9 hills

King / Queen of the Hills medallions for first place Male and Female finishers.

We are asking all registered riders to bring a donation of back-to-school supplies or a contribution of $10 so they can be purchased in bulk by The Little Red Schoolhouse Project.

Clean out your family closet for outgrown, but wearable gently used coats, or pick up extra socks or underwear, or school supplies when you’re out shopping. Cash donations help purchase supplies in bulk. Supplies most in demand include:
• paper
• 3 ring binders
• rulers
• crayons
• child-size scissors
• colored pencils
• colored markers
• backpacks
• scientific calculators
• socks and underwear
