Are you interested in Kidical Mass?
Kidical Mass is a fun, safe, easy-going, and law-abiding family bike ride for kids of all ages. It started circa 2008 in Eugene, Oregon, and has since spread across the globe!
We’re on the hunt for volunteer ride leaders and organizers to help make Kidical Mass a success! At this meeting we will discuss:
– Insurance and liability waivers
– Inclusiveness at events
– Route planning
– Ride leading
If you want to help us keep Kidical Mass rides going please join us at this meeting! We have the meeting room begining at 1 and will get started at 1:30. Feel free to drop in!
Unfortunately bike parking can be sparse at this location – there are 2 large -staple racks on the south side of the library, along the sidewalk on 50th. The bike parking directly out front of the library is accessible by stairs or by walking your bike up the grass.
The meeting space is in the basement of the library, to the immediate left of the front door. This will require walking down/up some steps. Please let me know if this is an issue for you so I can contact library staff to find a work around! We want everyone to feel welcome and engaged.
Kids welcome!
More information about Kidical Mass:
Our group rides include a nice mix of experienced cyclists, and folks just getting started. We hope to educate bike-curious parents about ways to bicycle with children, help kids learn to ride safely in the city, and increase the visibility of family biking on Seattle streets. Kids are traffic too! All manner of bikes and high-occupancy velos are welcome.
Kidical Mass rides usually involve some mix of calm streets and bike trails, and ideally culminate in treats and park adventures. We do aim for some non-confrontational public visibility, since we feel that the more people see happy families out there biking, the more will join in on the general family cycling fun, and the safer we’ll all be.
