Green Lake is a recreational mecca for the entire city, drawing people from all over to walk, jog, fish, sunbathe, and play sports. This will be a fun and informative walk around the entire lake. Come learn about its natural and human history, from its origins as a glacial lake carved by the Vashon Glacier, through its settlement and development as a Seattle suburb, to its current status as one of the city’s most popular destinations.
Walk Leader: Jim Davis, Feet First Board Member and Neighborhood Walking Ambassador.
This walk is supported by King County Metro’s North Seattle/Shoreline In Motion program, which encourages residents to learn more about their travel options including taking the bus, walking and biking. If you register with In Motion you can earn rewards for trips you take by foot, bike, carpool and bus! If you or your friends live along the Aurora corridor in Shoreline, Bitterlake, or Greenwood, please go to www.Kingcounty.gov/inmotion, then click on “North Seattle/Shoreline” to sign up.
