Join transportation, housing, and climate advocates for a City Council candidate forum focusing on making Seattle a more affordable and sustainable community. We will be hearing from candidates for City Council in District 3 as they answer questions about housing, mass transit, ensuring everyone is able to use our streets safely and achieving Vision Zero, reducing carbon emissions, and centering racial equity in all of this work.
District 3 encompasses Capitol Hill, Central Area, First Hill, Little Saigon, and parts of South Lake Union, Mount Baker, Montlake and Yesler Terrace.
This event is brought to you by Transit Riders Union and our partners at the MASS Coalition (including Sierra Club, Cascade Bicycle Club, Seattle Subway, Seattle Neighborhood Greenways, 350 Seattle, Disability Rights Washington, Rooted in Rights, The Urbanist), and the Housing Development Consortium.
The forum will be held at the Washington State Labor Council, AFL CIO, which can be reached via transit on the First Hill Streetcar, the 14, 7, 9, and 106. This event is wheelchair accessible and CART services will be provided.
Candidates will have the opportunity to answer questions curated by local advocates. This forum will be moderated by Seattle Times reporter Heidi Groover and Seattle U professor Dr. Larry Hubbell.
