Speaker Series Topic #2 on March 20: Creating the Netflix of transportation: How Seattle can achieve mobility as a service.
Imagine being able to see all your transportation options for every trip, weigh the tradeoffs of your options side-by-side, plan your trip, and purchase your fare with one app. This is Mobility as a Service and it allows you to buy mobility services like transit, car share, ride share, taxi and other for hire services based on consumer needs instead of buying the means of transportation. In addition to integrated trip planning and booking, customers can use the service either as Pay-As-You-Go or they can purchase mobility packages based on their or their family’s needs. Think of it as Netflix for your transportation needs.
The consumer facing element of Mobility as a Service brings every kind of transport together into a single intuitive mobile app and this technology is moving toward reality around the world. Improving the customer experience through one-stop fare payment, trip planning, and purchase is not only where the industry is moving toward, it’s what people are beginning to expect. Is Seattle next?
Learn from mobility technologists about this new idea and what it might look like for customers, public agencies, employers, and public and private mobility providers in Seattle.
Our distinguished guest speakers are local and international leaders in the Mobility as a Service movement. They include Dr. Filippo Logi (Mobility Management Leader at Siemens Munich), Mac Brown (Vice President of moovel), and Jeff Warren (CEO of Migo). Jonathan Hopkins, the Executive Director of Commute Seattle will moderate the conversation.
