Prince’s birthday is coming up! Let’s all bike that day in his memory with a BIKE, BLAST & BESTOW!
Get Tuesday, June 7, on your calendar and plan to dress in the likeness of Prince (or any other musician who has passed away this year – like David Bowie, Lena Horne, Maurice White, Phife Dawg – who you want to honor) and:
BIKE around several blocks or more (Yes, it’s a work day, but a nice 20-minute ride to work or anywhere at any time that day will suffice).
BLAST some of your favorite Prince (or other beloved musician’s) music in his/her honor.
Or if you are driving and see a Prince fan biker cycling alongside the road, have your Prince tracks ready to play out loud for a minute in your own ride in support and memory of him, too.
And plan to BESTOW some gifts (monetarily or by mentoring) to your chosen charity or cause as Prince generously did anonymously throughout his life.
Post pictures of yourself on your bicycle celebrating Prince’s birthday. Use the hash tag #BikeBlastBestow4Prince or #BikeBlastBestow4Bowie,#BikeBlastBestow4Lena, etc. to share along with other fans.
The hash tag may also serve as an entry into a drawing for potential giveaways, as I plan to request gift cards from local and national companies to give away to some participants. (More on this later, along with info leading up to the Portland Bowie vs. Prince bike ride, which has since been scheduled for 2016).
So, let’s go crazy on this day and celebrate those we love and remember beautifully!
