Join us for an in-person summer picnic!!

As per BHSS tradition, we are having a summer celebration instead of an August monthly meeting.

Join us on Thursday, August 26 at 6 pm for a potluck at Jefferson Park – Picnic Shelter #2! (I just got the official permit for this from Seattle Parks)

We’ll be entirely outside, and I’m going to acquire plastic gloves for the serving utensils to help everyone stay safe.

Shelter #2 at Jefferson Park is located on the south side of the skatepark. There are restrooms and playgrounds on the other side of the skatepark from the shelter.

I have attached a map of Jefferson Park with added bus stops and bike route info. I also attached a Google Maps Streetview of what the shelter looks like in relation to other parts of the park.

How to get there:

  • Walking/biking/rolling: Jefferson Park is accessible from the Beacon Hill Neighborhood Greenway, and you can also use Beacon Ave
  • Light rail: The Beacon Hill light rail station is about 3/4 of a mile from the picnic shelter. You can also transfer to the #36 bus to get the rest of the way.
  • Bus: The nearest bus stops to the picnic shelter are along the following bus routes:
    • Rt 36: use the Beacon Ave S & Jefferson Community Center stop
    • Rt 50, 60, 107: use the 15th Ave S & S Dakota St stop (requires an uphill climb)
  • Driving: There are parking lots along Beacon Ave near the Jefferson Community Center (3801 Beacon Ave S)

I look forward to seeing y’all in person again!
