Bike and Pike is an annual event hosted by R+E Cycles to celebrate local businesses and give back to the community that has given so much to us. We have been building bikes right here in Seattle since 1973, and on March 2, 2013, we would like to invite you to come on down to our shop at 5627 University Way NE and see where the magic happens. The event is extra special this year, as it is our 40th anniversary and both original owners of the shop will be in attendance!
The event will showcase some local writers, riders, food, and beverages. Local writer and cycling tourist Willie Weir will be in attendance and is offering personalized 30 minute sessions on touring advice for you and your touring partners! You can sign up in advance to guarantee your spot and ask Willie all the questions you’ve ever had about bicycle touring. Tantalize your tastebuds throughout the day with beer from Pike Place Brewery, coffee from Caffe Vita, and pizza from Via Tribunali. Jenise’s Jammers will be present offering samples of delicious and healthy energy bars, and will have some available for purchase. The Redmond Rotary will be on hand to talk about upcoming group rides. Another fabulous local writer, Bill Thorness, will be around to share stories of his cycling adventures.
You will have the opportunity to win fabulous prizes in our raffle, and all the proceeds from the event will go to Food Lifeline. Raffle prizes include: an Erickson frame set, a Rodriguez frame set, a 2 year subscription to Bicycle Paper including both guides, Pike Brewing Company merchandise, and more!
