Girls of Summer All-Girl Alleycat is Saturday + More women/trans/femme bike events this week

For the seventh year, the folks behind the monthly Menstrual Monday rides will host the Girls of Summer All-Girl Alleycat Saturday.

The women/trans/femme ride will have all new stops this year and boasts a serious list of prize sponsors. It’s the kind of race that attracts fast riders as well as people just in it for a fun afternoon biking around town. So invite your friends.

Registration starts at 2 p.m. at Dr. Jose Rizal Park. Race starts at 3. $10.

Details from the event page:

The 7th Annual All-Women’s, Trans, Femme Alley Cat is back and better than ever!! Join 100+ of the most badass women on bikes in Seattle on Saturday, June 10th for a day of fun, prizes, and bike racing.

Registration starts at 2, race is at 3pm. $10 gets you in and a drink ticket*. Bring a helmet, pen, map, and lock.

As always, riders of all sizes, stripes, and speeds are welcome. We’ll have a Master’s Category (45+), Single Speed/Fixed, and for the first year, an Out of Towners category (and more creative/silly categories too.)

*We aim to come out even steven but like last year if we have any profits after expenses they will be donated to Planned Parenthood.

But the Girls of Summer is only the grand finale of a week of women/trans/femme bike events:

Swift Industries is hosting a Women/Trans/Femme Adventurer’s Happy Hour 5 – 8 p.m. Wednesday at their Pioneer Square shop.

The Bikery‘s WTF Night is 6:30 – 9 p.m Tuesday for people who want to fix their bike in a welcoming environment.

And, of course, today is the first Monday of the month. That means Menstrual Monday’s monthly group ride meets up at the Seattle Center fountain at 6:30 p.m. The social, no-drop ride starts at 7.

I’ve been doing this for the last 3 years, and it’s my favorite ride of the year! Big thanks to the group of women who put it on every year – it is a ton of work and they make it look easy.
