Eat dinner and talk about grassroots bicycle movements Monday

15027964_10157719060045261_6394823031054050919_nFor years, Microcosm Publishing’s Elly Blue and Joe Biel have been traveling the country with chef Joshua Ploeg to make dinner and talk with local people working to improve their communities through bicycling.

They have collected these stories of grassroots change, and they want to share them with you here in Seattle over dinner.

Dinner and Bikes will be hosted locally by the good folks at G&O Family Cyclery at the Greenwood Chaco Canyon 8 p.m. Monday. It’s $20 at the door, dinner included. (Register online to help them get a good count)

More details from the event page:

Please join us on November 14th from 8pm to 11pm for a traveling road show of vegan food and bicycle inspiration. Joshua Ploeg will delight with a vegan and gluten free buffet dinner. Elly Blue and Joe Biel will co-present films, a talk, and slides about Groundswell movements, incidences where people demanded and implemented better neighborhood and bicycling conditions.

The event is followed with a book signing and time for questions, discussion of local issues, and perusing the traveling bookstore. [Admission cost: $20 at the door includes dinner.]

  1. We have changed the focus of Monday’s Dinner and Bikes event, in response to Trump’s election. We all might just need a chance to sit with friends and cry and scheme.

If you can’t afford the full $20 ticket price, G&O will cover your ticket, just pay what you can at the Eventbrite page. We do need you to preregister, though, to plan the meal appropriately.

MONDAY, NOVEMBER 14TH, 8PM AT CHACO CANYON GREENWOOD
