Saturday screening: 8 p.m. at Ark Lodge Cinemas in Columbia City

Cascade’s Flying Wheels Summer Century – Saturday, Redmond

Flying Wheels_2016EventArt_RGB_-12Day-of registration available at the start line Saturday morning at Marymoor Velodrome in Redmond. $80 for adult non-members ($70 for members).

There are shorter routes if 100 miles sounds like too much.

Details from Cascade:

Flying Wheels weaves its way through Western Washington’s Snoqualmie Valley. This fertile valley is home to many organic farms producing some of the area’s highest quality produce, meats and cheeses. You will spend your day rolling from the valley floor to the ridges that define this beautiful place, a peaceful getaway not far from the city. New this year, riders will also receive a free finisher meal from one of our finish line festival food vendors as part of registration.

There are four different riding options for the event. Riders can choose the 23-, 45,-, 63-, or 104-mile routes. The 23-mile route heads from Marymoor Park around Lake Sammamish. Staying close to the shore it is mostly flat with just a few ups.

Apple Century – Saturday, Wenatchee

If you’d rather ride your 100 miles on the east side of the pass, you can do that, too!

Day-of registration is $90. Starts at Walla Walla Point Park in Wenatchee.

Details from the Apple Century team:

Fully supported recreational road ride to benefit challenged scholars. 25 mile, 50 mile, and 100 mile full century options through the cascade foothills from Wenatchee through Cashmere, Leavenworth, and Plain.

Verity Credit Union Classic (AKA the Ballard Crit) – Saturday, Ballard

ClassicLogoIf you prefer to watch people bike far and fast rather than do it yourself, the 23rd Annual Verity Credit Union Classic (AKA the Ballard Crit) is in historic downtown Ballard Saturday. Racing starts at 2 p.m. Top-tier races start at 6:15.

Details from the event team:

We’re proud to have Verity Credit Union‘s support for the 23rd running of the criterium bicycle race in Ballard. This year we’ve also joined forces with a new bike shop in Ballard, Ascent Cycles.

One of Seattle’s classic bike races with a great city course, lots of fans and a fantastic atmosphere. Just like the original crits in Belgium, the keystone pro event completes the evening with fans spilling out of the local bars and restaurants to watch and cheer.
