Bike News Roundup: StreetFilms circa 1950

It’s time for the weekly bike news roundup! As always, this is an open thread.

First up, this video reminds me of what StreetFilms would have been like 60 years ago (also, it’s interesting how many of the transit arguments have not changed):

I used to live and bike in the hills above Fresno. I had rocks and beer cans thrown at me from moving vehicles, but fortunately I was never shot at! It’s a good reminder that despite all the fiery rhetoric, on the whole Seattle’s a pretty friendly place for those on two wheels.

A tourist from Florida once remarked to me how nice it was not to have all the cars trying to run him off the road, while bicycling in downtown Seattle.

“Going Places” that was an interesting slice of 1953. Too bad there was that constant jumping and missing dialog.
