Pedal, Stretch, Breathe is a zine about yoga for people who bike and about biking for people who do yoga. And you can help fund it and score yourself a copy by backing the project’s Kickstarter campaign.
The zine is written by Seattle’s Kelli Refer, who writes about yoga and biking on her blog and teaches yoga at various locations around town. She has also contributed to Seattle Bike Blog (and is my partner).
I’ve watched Kelli working away on the zine and have helped advise her in spots. I truly can’t wait for the final project.
Elly Blue, editor of the zine, put it best in her take on the project:
One of my favorite sections of writing is about breath. It takes you from the experience of pedaling up a steep Seattle hill, breathing hard, to the Seattle’s greenway movement, to the scientific literature on particulate matter from car exhaust, to bees, to specific breath exercises you can use to get you up that hill more easily. It’s all tied together with some decidedly un-cheesy yoga philosophy. I love it, and I think you will too.
The project is nearly 2/3 funded already. And as with all of Taking the Lane Media’s projects, you can score copies of this zine as well as an archive of other related zines by backing the project now.
