TCC Pierce County Complete Streets Coordinator – Paid, apply by March 16

Transportation Choices is hiring for a new one year position that will be in charge of implementing a complete streets program in Pierce County Washington. The Coordinator’s primary functions will be the education of key community stakeholders about complete streets and to serve as the lead advocate for the adoption of complete streets ordinances in various jurisdictions across Pierce County. The Coordinator will help shape the program’s development as well as manage the program. The Coordinator will be a team player with a collaborative in nature and who works well with a diversity of individuals.

The Coordinator’s other function will be to play a lead staff role for a diverse coalition of key Pierce County stakeholders who will be tasked with assisting the Coordinator in advancing complete streets policies. The selected candidate will work closely with Transportation Choices’ Field Director with support from the Executive Director. The Complete Streets Coordinator job will be based primarily in Tacoma and will require some evening and weekend work. This is a guaranteed one year grant funded position, but an ideal candidate will help identify future funding to allow the position to extend beyond February 2013.

Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance Instructor – Volunteer, due March 7

Are you passionate about learning and teaching? Do you have mad skills and love sharing the thrills of mountain biking? The Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance is seeking enthusiastic, positive, and above all, patient, individuals for our Instructor Team!

We are now accepting applications for the 2012 season. Please contact Debbi Murray for an application form. Evergreen will provide International Mountain Bike Instructor Certification (IMIC) training and First Aid certification for selected candidates. Women are strongly encouraged to apply! Applications are due by March 7.

Alliance for Biking and Walking Communications Fellow – Paid, due March 15

Alliance for Biking & Walking is seeking a Communications Fellow to raise the profile of our work and the work of our member organizations. Specifically we are looking for a go-getter to help get the word out about important progress being made by local and state bicycle and pedestrian advocacy organizations across North America. Based out of the Alliance’s office in downtown DC, the job will involve working closely with our coalition of more than 200 grassroots organizations and several national partners. Under the supervision of the Alliance President, the fellow will coordinate multiple components of the Alliance’s communications.

This is a tremendous opportunity for someone with a lot of initiative to take on significant responsibility while learning about transportation reform issues and working directly with a variety of well-known leaders and organizations both nationally and in communities across the North America.

Cascade Bicycle Club and its Education Foundation seek an administrative whiz to manage multiple development projects. The ideal candidate will have a commitment to quality, strong understanding of development best practices (especially donor data management) and seek a long-term career in administration. He/She will be a self-starter who thrives in a fun, fast-paced environment, surrounded by colleagues who are passionate about Cascade’s mission. Candidates should find achievement in a support role and be confident working independently once given direction and deadlines.

The Development Specialist is part of a three person development team which includes a Development Director (CFRE) and Grant Writer. Several other members of the staff participate in fundraising activities including: the Executive and Deputy Directors, program leadership, events and sponsorship teams, and communication and marketing teams. The board is also committed to fundraising and a newly formed Development Committee is active and successful.
