Bike News Roundup: Barriers to mobility

This adorable film by Michelle Lehman is from 2007, but I just now saw it. Love it.

Michael Snyder over at Seattle Likes Bikes wrote a post about the various barriers people in our city have to getting around. Our city needs all kinds of transportation options to fit the wide variety of needs.

The number of cyclists dying in Tampa recently is astounding (six in ten weeks). Something must be done to protect them (via Biking Bis).

But don’t let that get you down, Gene also wrote about Romano Scaturro, who rode 10,000 miles to catch a home game at every Major League Baseball stadium in the country this season.

Bike Portland reports that a new grocery store in Portland is going to have more bike parking than car parking.

The Bicycle Federation of Washingtonisconsin created a bicycle safety guide for car drivers.

Its not online yet, but pick up a copy of Real Change to see how the City Council is feeling about the mayor’s transportation revenue proposals.
