HAVE YOU SEEN PICTURES OF THE NEW PLAYGROUND AT SEATTLE CENTER YET? IT LOOKS SO COOL!
Artists-at-Play, the playground at Seattle Center we’ve all been waiting for opens Memorial Day Weekend.

This is also Northwest Folklife Festival weekend, a free and kid-friendly event at Seattle Center:

And the green bike lanes along Mercer Street are open, too, so we can ride in style between South Lake Union and the Seattle Center.

Mercer bike lanes open, the Bike Route Wall of Uptown finally cracks

We’ll meet on the grass by the dinosaur topiaries in Fremont along the Burke-Gilman Trail (across from Cascade Bicycle Studio at 180 N Canal Street, Seattle, WA 98103 if you need an actual street address) for a slow-paced three-mile ride. WE WILL LEAVE PROMPTLY AT 10:30AM so come early if you need some time for riding around on the little gravel trails or getting wiggles out before being confined to the bike. Organizers will show up around 10am with bike pumps and information. Potties and snacks are nearby in PCC Natural Market.

This is a one-way ride because families will probably want to stay at the playground and festival varying amounts of time, but we’re happy to form small groups for heading back to the Burke-Gilman Trail. This is more-or-less our route, but from 9th we turn right on Roy and then left on Dexter to avoid getting on Mercer too early. Our return trip will be the reverse:
