Instructor
Peter Lagerwey, Toole Design Group. Peter Lagerwey is the Regional Office Director for Toole Design Group (TDG) in the Northwest. Peter has more than 30 years of experience working with city, county, and state agencies.
Target Audience
The primary audience for this course includes transportation planners, public works directors, traffic maintenance/operations engineers, and traffic safety personnel. The secondary audience includes enforcement professionals, public health and injury prevention professionals, decision-makers, and others who are seeking ideas and solutions for making changes to the physical environment that improve safety and accessibility for bicyclists.
Training Description
The objective of this training is for participants to understand how they can provide operating cost efficiencies, decrease speeding and reduce traffic collisions by integrating bicycle facilities into their routine resurfacing programs, specifically through the use of Road Diets.
Incorporating On-Road Bicycle Networks into Resurfacing Projects is used as the primary reference for this course. All participants will receive a printed copy when they attend the training. Additionally, participants will be provided with references for further reading.
