DVSS is One Year Old!! Duwamish Valley Safe Streets volunteers had their very first meeting at Counterbalance Brewing on August 15th 2016! Let’s meet at Counterbalance this Wednesday (a year and a day later!) and celebrate as DVSS turns One!

I will bring birthday cake to share – let’s make a wish, blow out the candles, raise a glass and praise ourselves for the incredible accomplishments of our volunteers over the last year! Bring yourselves and a party snack to share if you feel like it.

Wednesday, August 16th, 6:30-8pm
Counterbalance Brewing ~ 503 South Michigan Street, Suite B

Agenda items so far…

1) We need volunteers for working on things needed for the GTSP Trail campaign! We should hear this week about a grant funding award that could help to compensate some community volunteers for their time and effort in certain roles. We’ll have a list of possible volunteer opportunities to help with this campaign and talk about the goals we set out to achieve in the project we proposed for the Duwamish River Opportunity Fund grant.

2) DVSS will table a booth at Duwamish River Festival, Saturday Aug 26th, noon to 6pm. Need volunteers to help staff the booth and make a display/interactive materials. What should be out goal in this great community engagement opportunity? Thinking…Trail Survey? Mark a map of where you would like a trail to start and end? Make some buttons to give out? Join DVSS!

Other Stuff:

Parking Day (Fri Sept. 15th) application due Aug 18th. Any volunteers want to do something at 5th and Cloverdale or on Cloverdale or somewhere else in SP? There’s an idea for one in Georgetown…

Your Voice your Choice project awards! YAY – South Park: Crossing Improvements on S Cloverdale St (Cost: $85,700, Total Votes: 396) Can someone fill us in on what this improvement is about?

5th and Cloverdale project update!
