The event runs from 8 a.m. until noon Sunday.
While we don’t typically cover Tacoma on this blog, this event sounds particularly awesome.
The “Downtown to Defiance” event celebrates the culmination of a decades-old dream to create a seven-mile waterfront trail connection from downtown Tacoma to the region’s most popular park, the Point Defiance Park. Located along the Puget Sound, completing Tacoma’s Missing Link connects the Ruston Way promenade, the Point Ruston Development, Town of Ruston, City of Tacoma , Point Defiance Park and the future 11-acre waterfront park on the peninsula.
On Sunday, Sept. 22, walkers, runner, skaters and bicyclists are invited to participate in various walks, runs or rides for all ages and abilities along the trail. There will many activities and festivities along the way, so grab a a Downtown to Defiance passport and collect stamps at the many stops as you go!
