Third Annual Girls of Summer all-girl alleycat is Saturday

GOS_2013The fabulous women behind Seattle’s Menstrual Monday bike rides are getting ready to hold their third annual all-girl alleycat Saturday: Girls of Summer.

An alleycat is basically a scavenger hunt by bike. Women who want to participate should meet at 2 p.m. at Gas Works Park to register. Any guys who want to volunteer to help out should email [email protected].

Menstrual Monday is proud to announce the THIRD ANNUAL ALL-Girl Alley Cat, Girls of Summer!

Once again, there will be an adventurous romp through the Seattle streets celebrating the best thing ever, GIRLS ON BIKES. In addition to prizes to the fastest riders, we will also have prizes in fun and creative categories to encourage new or non-competitive riders (a MOUNTAIN of prizes).

Register at Gas Works Park at 2pm and race at 3pm sharp.

Things to bring: map of Seattle, a lock, a pen, and a helmet.

We are super stoked to announce that this year Verity Credit Union is sponsoring our after party at the Twilight Exit. What does this mean to you? Racers for a lowly $5 you get two drink tickets, oh and our amazing volunteers you will also be rewarded with drink tickets. Verity Credit Union is one of only two credit unions that offer bike loans and are obviously super supportive of the Seattle bike community.

Prizes will be awarded roughly 6pm.

Don’t forget – Come out to our monthly ride! First Monday of every month. Seattle Center Fountain, meet 6:30, depart 7. Adventure to new destinations with rad lady bicyclists!

For the historians and those wanting to know more, there’s info about last year’s race, a detailed wrap-up, and tons of photos.
