King 5 reports that some terrible person recently stole a custom adaptive tricycle from an Auburn ten-year-old with special needs.

Return the trike and start repenting immediately, thief. This is low.

  1. I hate scumbags who steal bikes.

Anybody here have experience with local crowdsource fundraising for something like this? There must be a platform like Kickstarter or Indiegogo specifically for small scale charity stuff. I’d gladly pitch in $25 to get her a new one. Would be a good way for the Seattle bike community to show we aren’t just a bunch of scofflaws. :)

Can we get a photo to start passing around FB, blogs, etc? This bike is distinctive enough that somebody’s going to recognize it if the scumbag takes it out on the street.

Someone already posted a fundraiser here As of this reply, $1980 has been raised!!

Actually, that is the amount that needs to be raised. It is at $1,920 now. As promised, I just put in $25 so it should be down to $1,895 now though it looks like they don’t update the graph in real time. Maybe Tom can write a follow up post to bring this back to the forefront.
